Rochester History Digital Exhibit
History can seem far away, abstract, and buried in the distant past. But Rochester’s history did not stop with Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass or George Eastman; even people who joined this community as recently as last week are part of our history.
With generous support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, our first digital exhibit will begin to explore the history of Rochester from the distant past to yesterday’s news. Through images, stories and items in our collection you’ll be able to explore what makes Rochester…well, Rochester. Various neighborhoods, ethnicities, religions, types of work, new-comers or long-established residents, will all make up the telling of this city’s particular story.
Come back soon to see what’s here!
