The Rochester Historical Society is home to over 5,000 architectural drawings, plans, renderings, and specifications spanning the mid-nineteenth century to the end of the twentieth century. Although the focus of the collection is on the buildings in Rochester, some drawings in the collection relate to buildings elsewhere in Western and Central New York.
With the help of a grant from the Rochester Area Community Foundation’s Lloyd E. Klos Historical Fund, we are in the process of cataloguing our entire collection of drawings. Currently we are cataloguing drawings of these Rochester architects/firms:
Gordon & Madden
Gordon & Kaelber
Charles W. Eldridge
Shanley & Sturges
